The Psalter is an eclectic album. Jas Knight references different genres, including Gospel, Soul, Hip-Hop, Electronica and Jazz, in an attempt to bring a fresh sound to the table. In addition to the soundscape, Jas brings a didactic (teaching) element in this album. This album is a breath of fresh air for those that traditionally have enjoyed Gospel music, but have yearned for much more theologically. The Psalter is both a borrowing from the past and at the same time, a look into the future.
